September 26, 2008 - Monthly meeting - Breast Cancer Awarness presented by Peggy Smith, Nurse Navigator with Harrinton Cancer Center. This will be an informative program concerning breast cancer prevention and treatment.
September - Applications are being accepted for mentors. Deadline for mentor applications is September 30.
September 1 - December 1 - Applications are being accepted for career and lifetime achievement awards.
October 27 - November 13 - Orientation held at school sites for mentors / mentees.
October 31 - Monthly meeting - Myrna Raffkind will present a program on parent / teen communications and talking to teens about sexuality and sensitive issues. This isn't just for parents but also grandparents and all adults who need to urge teens to delay parenting.
November - Watch for details about the upcoming Professional Development workshop
December 5 - Annual Christmas Luncheon and Silent Auction - Auction proceeds to benefit the AWN Scholarship Program. Picture of auction items and bidding will be available on this website a few weeks before the event. If you have items to donate to the auction, contact Carol Autry or Cynthia Hixon. More details to come.
December 10 - Career Discovery Event at the Discovery Center for mentees. Lunch provided. More details to come.
All monthly meetings begin at 11:45 a.m. and are held at 600 S. Tyler, Chase Tower, 30th floor. Cost is $12. For reservations, contact Loretta Williams.
