  Some of our past programs:

Let's Get Organzied - Nancy Altschwager specializes in home and office organization, downsizing and moving.  She gave us tips on getting organized and how to stay organized.

Interviewing from Both Sides of the Desk – Kathy Mitchell, Human Resources Director for Coffee Memorial Blood Center shared several effective interviewing techniques and preparation tips.  She examined both the candidate’s and the interviewer’s perspectives.

Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way – Laura Reyher, R.N. with BSA Home Care and Hospice presented a most informative program regarding living wills.  The Terri Schiavo case brought to national attention the need for a living will.  Laura explained living wills and provided those in attendance with sample documents and other information to get them started in setting up their own living will.

Leadership Amarillo & Canyon – Sharon Minor, Executive Director of Leadership Amarillo & Canyon provided an overview of the organization.  She also provided a special focus on the teen leadership program.

Lunch Presentations

Mentee/Mentor Luncheon -
Leesa Calvi, County Extension Agent helped us learn more about "Dressing for Success”. The Mentees were treated to lunch and we had the opportunity to meet them.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

"Hats off to you!" - Leticia Goodrich presented a program in preparation for breast cancer awareness month.  Leticia addressed many commonly held myths in which women erroneously place their trust. But belief in misinformation may put a woman in harms way when cancer is involved. Leticia narrated a unique script that introduced a number of interesting personas and their beliefs about cancer. A closer look at the characters strutting around the room during the presentation made the audience feel that they had met them somewhere before. Thankfully, Dr. Dawn Bradford was there to rebut the outlandish stories these characters professed.  And hopefully, the valid information that AWN members learned will empower them to take charge of their own breast health and better assure early detection.
